HEALTH BENEFITS OF TURMERIC
Anti-inflammatory | Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.
Improved Brain Function | Curcumin has been known to assist in preventing the decrease of brain function hormones that prevent depression and Alzheimer's.
Lowers Risk of Hearth Disease | Curcumin is good at improving the function of the endothelium, which is the lining of the blood vessels. Curcumin may help reverse many steps in the heart disease process.
Treats Symptoms of Arthritis | In a study of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, curcumin was more effective than an anti-inflammatory drug.
Antidepressant Capabilities | There is also some evidence that curcumin can boost the brain neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.
My Tumeric Tea Recipe has just the right amount of Turmeric so that it is not too overwhelming. The teaspoon of Ginger compliments the Turmeric and adds a slight 'kick' to the overall steep. The Brown Sugar lends a grounded sweetness and the Chinese Five Spice brings all the ingredients together beautifully.
