Visiting the Central Dallas Public Library: Shakespeare's First Folio

Did you know that you can determine a city’s vibe and culture by visiting its public library? Yeah, me either until I read an article on page 32 and 33 of Afar Magazine. As it turns out, you can learn a lot about a city’s history too!

In this article, I visit the Central Dallas Public Library and its exhibit displaying Shakespeare’s first folio of 1623. Click play to go through the library and museum exhibits with me!

There are so many exhibits, artifacts and art pieces that I did not have the time to see. The first floor is home to the Central Downtown Branch which is where all the books are kept. The second floor is the Children’s Center. Humanities, information about language, literature, religion, journalism, writing and philosophy are kept on the third floor; a floor I MUST visit soon! The fourth floor is where fine arts are kept, and the fifth floor is home to business and technology. The sixth-floor features Government and Urban Information and the eighth floor is home to History and Social Sciences Genealogy. I took you on the seventh floor where Texas and Dallas History as well as fine books like Shakespeare’s First Folio are kept. Can you see why I must go back?
