Plantation Peach | Charleston Tea Plantation

25 Oct 2016

Recently, I visited the Charleston Tea Plantation located on Wadamalaw Island, South Carolina and I had a blast! Surrounded by, tasting and learning about tea was the agenda and I could not leave without taking some Charleston Tea home with me. There were so many to choose from but I got my hands on Plantation Peach by Charleston Tea Plantation and oh is it delicious!

THE HUE

You know my favorite word to describe black teas: Amber-y. Plantation Peach by Charleston Tea Plantation is a deep golden hue that almost resembles a perfectly baked peach cobbler.

THE SCENT

You guessed it! Plantation Peach by Charleston Tea Plantation tea smells like peach. There is a slight herb aroma of the Camellia Sinensis which compliments the fruity scents of peach.

THE SIP

Hario Chacha Kyusu Maru Tea Pot and Infuser

Without 2 teaspoons of honey, Plantation Peach by Charleston Tea Plantation tastes like a simple black tea with a very faint hint of peach. I steeped this blend for only 3 or 4 minutes which made the sip very smooth and void of any bitterness.

With 2 teaspoons of honey, Plantation Peach by Charleston Tea Plantation comes alive with the peach notes at the forefront! The sugars in the honey accentuate the peach flavor and freshens the tea. I can see myself wanting to sip this tea with 2 teaspoons of honey and chilled from here on out.

THE EFFECT

Plantation Peach makes me a bit nostalgic for the summer that zoomed by so fast. The golden hue reminds me of the sun and the peach notes makes me think of fresh summer fruits.

I will definitely be saving Plantation Peach for summer 2017 since I prefer it chilled but I will hold onto it this autumn and winter to never forget summer dreams.
