Beet Cabbage Savory Tea | Numi Organics

11 Oct 2016

Who knew sipping tea could be sweet and savory! This Tea Review Tuesday I am reviewing a tea so savory that I even use it as a substitute for chicken, beef or even vegetable stock. Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics is the perfect sip for the season and will leave you craving comfort foods.

THE HUE

If you didn’t know there were beets in Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics then you would surely find out after the steep. The hue is literally beet red and mimics the colors that are prevalent in the season of Autumn.

THE SCENT

The tart flavor of the beet bursts through the scent of Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics but it is quickly subdued by the scents of cabbage and apple peel. Brussels sprouts are similar to miniature cabbages and they have a similar scent.

THE SIP

Hario Chacha Kyusu Maru Tea Pot and Infuser

Without 2 teaspoons of honey, Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics tastes like your favorite comfort food. With a comforting and warm as well as spiced taste you really feel like you’re sipping a complete meal!

With 2 teaspoons of honey, Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics transforms from a dinner to a dessert! Who knew that the sugars in the honey would accentuate, not the beet or cabbage, but the apple peel; turning the sip into a delicious warm and spiced apple pie.

THE EFFECT

I am really excited about Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics. It makes me happy to sip yet another tea that compliments the beautiful season of Autumn.

When sipping Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics I was inspired to create another side dish inspired by tea. Be sure to check out the post entitled Cauliflower Tea Purée where I put my own spin on a recipe given to me by a friend.

Numi Organics has quite a few savory teas to choose from and I love to use them to season my dishes. Be sure to take a look at the article entitled, Fennel Spice Tea Rice. In this Recipe, I was able to transform plain basmati rice into a spiced tea savory side dish!
