When my friend gave me this book, she hyped it up, so I wanted to start reading it right away. And I did! But...I had to set it back down because I just knew it was going to take me on an emotional rollercoaster that I was not prepared for until this past Friday. I stayed on the ride all the way until Sunday night and I'm so glad I did. "It Ends With Us" is such a wonderful read and I'm ready to tell you why!

Ain't Nobody Got Time For That!
As I was explaining at the outset, when I first started reading this book I was transported into the opening scene when Lily meets Ryle and immediately, I knew I was in for an emotional storm. I could see everything that Lily should have seen, and I just couldn't bring myself to continue reading. Some books require a little prep and a trigger warning, and this is one of them!
Colleen Hoover does a beautiful job at using words to paint word pictures, images, and complete scenes of the mind creating a true movie-of-the-mind! Lights, camera, action! And you're transported to Lily Bloom's world where you feel all of her feelings and empathize with women in her position in the real world. Bravo to Colleen Hoover for captivating my Friday and Sunday night with Lily's, Ryle's, and Atlas' story. I can't ever forget it!
A True Perspective Writing
You all know by now that I have a soft place in my heart for perspective writings. Two of my favorite perspective writers, Newbery Honor winning author, Janet Taylor Lisle and the late but great and world-renowned author, Harper Lee have captivated me with their perspective writings. Colleen Hoover was able to put me in the shoes of an abuse victim, and although I have experienced abuse before by the hands of a romantic partner, I've never experienced it like Lily Bloom.
But now I feel like I have! And if you are having a hard time understanding why an abuse victim may stay in such a scenario then Colleen Hoover has got you covered! She takes Lily's shoes and put them onto your feet, ties up the laces tight, and takes you for a walk. I think anyone who reads this book will have greater empathy and understanding for women who are struggling to exit an abusive relationship.
Every Tuesday on Instagram, I host a talk and tea session called Tea Talk Tuesday at 6 PM CST on LIVE. On Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, the Tea Talk Tuesday Topic was: 5 Things You Should Not Say About Abuse Victims.

I have a thing for romance novels that are also categorized as historical fiction so modern writing styles tend to not captivate me. However, Colleen Hoover impressed me with her ability to tell a seamless and empathetic story that completely enthralled me. I definitely think you would enjoy this book if you haven't read it! And if you have read it, let me know what you thought about it in the comments below!
