Pu Erh | Arbor Teas

Pu erh is the most counterfeited tea on the tea market therefore a good pu erh is hard to come by. Since early 2015, I have explored many pu erhs and thankfully Pu Erh by Arbor Teas has won a spot in my tea cabinet.

THE HUE

THE HUE: Pu Erh | Arbor Teas

Pu Erh by Arbor Teas can steep anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes and it was truly a delight to see its steeping process. Pu Erh went from a rose gold hue to a deep red hue seen in the picture above.

THE SCENT

THE SCENT: Korean Boseong Red Tea | Teas Unique

Pu Erh by Arbor Teas smells like a typical quality pu erh. Very grassy, more like dried grass or hay. Pu Erh has always smelled very earthy to me and this is one characteristic that I have since enjoyed about it.

THE SIP

THE SIP: Yu Chi Red Jade | Origins Tea

Without 2 teaspoons of honey, Pu Erh by Arbor Teas tastes like a mellowed Assam with strong dried grass notes. It is very clean and smooth as well as full-bodied and mouth-satisfying.

With 2 teaspoons of honey, Pu Erh by Arbor Teas tastes exactly like it does without honey, only the notes are accentuated and the tea takes on a creamier/liquor feel that really made me feel like I was actually sipping a quality liquor.

THE EFFECT

THE EFFECT: Korean Boseong Red Tea | Teas Unique

I was a bit afraid to taste this Pu Erh since I have had bad experiences in the past with pu erhs that weren’t so great; one particular pu erh even landed on my Not My Cup Of Tea! list. Pu Erh by Arbor Teas, however, is delightful in every since and I personally think that it would be a good introduction to pu erh.
