I'm at it again! I infused Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics in my meal and this time the outcome was a deep violet, cheesy and delicious purée that I like to simply call Cauliflower Tea Purée. I created a basic recipe that can serve as a scrumptious side made with the beverage that makes us all smile…tea!
In this article, you will find the ingredients for and 3 simple instructions on how to make Cauliflower Tea Purée. This Recipe is truly fast and easy and will only take about 25 minutes from prep to serve. Although Cauliflower Tea Purée was inspired by a Recipe given to me by a friend, I have added my own twist to it and have made it more love-able for you true tea sipping bookworms. Enjoy!
1 small head (1kg) Cauliflower, trimmed, cut into small florets
30g (2 tablespoons) Butter, softened
1/3 cup finely-grated Sharp White Cheddar Cheese (or preferred cheese)
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Step 1: Bring Tea to a boil in a large saucepan.
Step 2: Place Cauliflower florets in boiling Tea and let cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until Cauliflower is very tender. Drain (if needed) and return to saucepan on low heat.
Step 3: Add Butter and mash until almost smooth. Stir in Sharp White Cheddar. Season with Salt and Pepper. Serve.
The cauliflower was more lilac or purple in hue however Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics was as red as well…beets! The two hues blended together to create a royal purple which happens to be my favorite color!
Numi Organics Savory Teas are quite tasty and serve as great alternatives for vegetarians or vegans who want to cook with a savory broth but obviously want to avoid meat products such as chicken or beef stock.
For example, Beet Cabbage is quite hearty containing: organic beet, organic cabbage, organic dried apple, organic decaf black tea, organic mustard seed, organic parsley, organic orange peel, organic coriander, organic clove and organic honey-bush.
Numi Organics Savory Tea comes in many delicious flavors! Among Beet Cabbage, there's Carrot Curry, Fennel Spice, Broccoli Cilantro, Tomato Mint and Spinach Chive. So many different recipes come to mind! Savory Soup perhaps?
I just fell in love with the hue when cooking the cauliflower in Beet Cabbage Savory Tea by Numi Organics. It’s so violet and rich. If you are looking for a side to add color to your plate Cauliflower Tea Purée is what you’ve been searching for!
